The National Labor Committee published a report last week claiming that teenage workers were treated with “military-style discipline,” were fined for mistakes, and housed in dirty rooms after working 15-hour shifts at the KYE Systems Corps in Dongguan, China. The factory produces Microsoft brand mice, cameras, and Xbox 360 controllers.
Microsoft responded to the situation in a blog on the company’s site. “We have a team of independent auditors en route to the facility to conduct a complete and thorough investigation. If we find that the factory is not adhering to our standards, we will take appropriate action.”
