Rare Speaks on MundoRare’s Closing

Earlier in the week we reported on one of the largest fan sites in the world, MundoRare, announcing its closure after several run-ins with its developer inspiration. Since then Rare has released a statement (via Eurogamer) in response to the fansite’s shutting down, neglecting to comment on the documentary project that was the final dispute between developer and fan community.

“Everyone at Rare was very sorry to hear that MundoRare would be closing,” read Rare’s statement, “We’ve appreciated all their support and work over the years. We wish everyone involved with the site all the very best for the future.”

Sooooo, this still seems weird. The reason the site shut down is because they made a documentary about Rare… and Rare shut them down because of the tone of the video. That seems lame.
