THQ has released a set of screenshots for the upcoming third-person Action-RPG Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine that is currently in development at Relic Entertainment. In this game, players will take control of one of the iconic, power armored Space Marines in both single player and multiplayer modes.

Though THQ confirmed that the game has been in production since before the 2009 E3, little details have been made available since then. Relic has stated that the game will be set against the stage of an Ork invasion of a Human planet, and that players will take control of a character known as Captain Titus. The game will be released for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in early 2011.

The set of six screenshots can be found after the jump.

  1. All I could think of was StarCraft: Ghost when I read this headline. Good on Games Workshop for opening up even more to games with the Warhammer license. Had they done so over a decade ago we wouldn’t have WarCraft (think about that for a bit!).
