One of the most critically acclaimed games of the previous generation, Beyond Good & Evil, will be making its way into the Playstation Store and the Xbox Live Arcade catalog somewhere next year. The game was developed by Ubisoft and released for the Nintendo Gamecub, PC, Playstation 2, and Xbox in 2002.

Though Ubisoft has stated that the game will be re-released somewhere in 2011, it is failed to specify a more detailed launch window. Beyond Good & Evil HD will include upgraded graphics, remade character models, polished textures and a re-mastered soundtrack, online leaderboards, and finally, added achievement or trophy support.

Ubisoft has not released any news regarding the sequel to Beyond Good & Evil that is currently in development, though Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot indicated last month that the development was ongoing and that the development team was aiming to “perfect” the project.

  1. I really want an HD remake for PC since that is what I am playing the original on. However I would check out the demo on PSN to see how it played. But seeing as how this is Ubisoft, the PC version would be laden with a nasty DRM that would make the game less desirable to play.

Well I just hope this confirms that BG&E2 is in development. I am quite a ways into the original and can’t wait to finish it since it is so good, but college and my Japanese class is taking up most of my free time.
