While both sales figures and reviews for Visceral Games’ Dante’s Inferno were above the expected average, the studio isn’t sure a sequel would be a secure investment. There are currently no plans in either the studio or its publisher EA to begin production, but representatives from the company say that there is still opportunity for another title in the future.
“I’m sure that if enough people are like, ‘I got 60 dollars for Purgatory or Paradiso,’ then we would make that game. But I don’t know. I don’t get to make those decisions.” said Visceral’s Zach Mumbach. “I think they do a real good job. I’ve never felt like, ‘We should be doing this, but EA is making us do that.’ Especially since JR’s [CEO John Riccitiello] came on board. JR’s like ‘Make good games. I need good games, give me good games.'”
