Valve is again reaching out to EA, the last time being the handling of the Playstation 3 version of their Orange Box, the publisher’s Partners label agreeing to distribute boxed copies of the upcoming Portal 2. Valve will still handle the digital distribution with its Steam platform (no word if said support will extend to the anticipated launch of Steam Cloud on PS3), and still reserves the right to delay the game further from its intended April 21, 2011 release date, although Valve has stated that no additional delays are planned.
“Portal 2 is Valve’s most innovative title in the company’s history and will be launched with a first-class launch campaign this April,” said Doug Lombardi, vice president of marketing at Valve. “We’re excited to be working with Electronic Arts to deliver this title as we expand our platform strategy to include the Mac and PlayStation 3 platforms.”
