The problem with running a lawsuit, a related counter-suit, and defending against a third, is that the costs tend to add up. Vince Zampella and Jason West, former Infinity Ward heads fighting the grounds of their leaving 10 months after the fact, have told the courts that they “are paying for this litigation from our own funds,” and Activision’s recent addendum to the lawsuit is an overt attempt to cash them out. Recent documents presented in association with the trial allegedly point to a purposeful delay on Activision’s part in releasing the addendum, the timing of which just made the deadline to extend the legal proceedings.

“Any delay of the trial in this lawsuit would increase the financial and non-financial burdens and would continue to distract us from running our business and earning a living,” West and Zampella explained, claiming that the legal fees have now exceeded their combined yearly income.
