According to a report by Develop-Online, Liverpool-based Bizarre Creations will shut down later this week, on the 18th of February. Late last year, owner Activision already confirmed that no buyer for the studio had been found, and that it would therefore be closed in the near future.

Over the years, Bizarre Creations grew a reputation as being a studio specialized in the development of racing games, having created the legendary F1 1997, as well as the Project Gotham Racing franchise and Blur, from 2010. The most recently released game by the studio was James Bond: Blood Stone, less than four months ago.

The news has not yet been officially confirmed by either Activision or Bizarre Creations itself.

  1. Well this sucks. It sucks when a great studio is run into the ground. I hope those people at Bizarre Creations find jobs in the coming months.

I really hate Activision right now in how they are conducting business with their studios and their marketing.
