Steve Nix has announced via Linkedin update that he will be leaving his post as General Manager of id Software (Doom, Quake) for a similar position at retailer Gamestop. Nix will take over as Vice President of General Manager of Digital Distribution at Grapevine, Texas’ Gamestop branch. Nix was a 4-year id veteran, most recently as Director of Business Development and Digital Platforms.
According to Gamestop, Nix will “lead the strategic development and execution of GameStop’s digital download business, working in collaboration with ecommerce, internal marketing, merchandising and operational teams to optimize GameStop’s digital download shopping experience.”
