Video game comic book tie-ins are no surprise, unless they come as part of a committee dedicated to giving them out for free. 2K Games, Top Cow Productions, and the Free Comic Book Day Committee have announced their three-partnership on The Darkness II: Confession, to be available worldwide on May 7th. The 32-page issue will act as a prequel to the upcoming shooter, beginning with lead character Jackie Estacado’s criminal origins and acquisition of the Darkness powers, and continuing through the events of the first game.
The issue will be distributed by Diamond Comic Distributors as part of the 9th Annual Free Comic Book Day, in which publishers from across the sequential art spectrum send in free copies of titles to independent retailers across the country.
