According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, EA COO John Schappert has left the organisation as of this morning. No official statement regarding the matter has been made, though initial rumors suggest that Schappert may be intent on joining social gaming-giant Zynga.
Schappert started his career at EA, but moved to Microsoft in 2007 and served there as the Vice President of Xbox Live for two years before returning to EA as the COO. Now, after one year and ten months, Schappert is leaving the company once more. EA has confirmed that Schappert has indeed left the company, but has not made any announcements with respect to a possible replacement, or Mr. Schappert’s future endeavours.
