T3 Entertainment and HanbitSoft have announced that Hellgate will be launching as a free-to-play title later this year. The game was originally released as Hellgate: London in October 2007, but servers were closed in January 2009 when developer Flagship Studios was forced into administration.

Though American and European servers have been offline since early 2009, Korean servers remained active as developer Hanbitsoft, who acquired the IP, continued work on the game. The press release that announced the return of Hellgate indicates a closed beta for North America will take place from June 3rd until June 5th, though the developer indicates there will enough beta keys for all those interested. You can sign up for the beta by visiting the official Hellgate website.
