The downloadable interim in the Saints Row series has been canned, according to the LinkedIn profile of Scott Rogers, the self-described “Creative Manager for THQ’s CORE games, CORE Digital Games Group and Kids and Family Groups.” Saints Row: Drive By was originally scheduled for release on the Playstation Network and Xbox Live Arcade sometime later this year, and would have acted as a middle story between Saints Row‘s 2 and 3.
No details were offered for the cancellation on Mr. Rogers’ profile, but THQ did recently confirm the canning of the project in a brief statement to Joystiq. According to VG247, one of the key rumors for the cancellation is the recent layoffs at Volition.
