The adventures of Gabe and Tycho have been immortalized in thousands of web comics and even a stunted downloadable games series, but now the universe of Penny Arcade is expanding once again, this time without its dual protagonists. Paramount Pictures announced, as covered by The Hollywood Reporter, that they will be adapting the work of Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins into an animated film. “The New Kid” will follow a young human child transferring to an all alien school, and is based on a single-page insert comic of the same name (above). Script writing duties have been handed off to Book of Eli word-smith Gary Whitta.
