Microsoft made plain its desire to add live television service to its suite of Xbox Live programs back during its E3 press conference, and – according to Bloomberg – the company has entered negotiations with Verizon and Comcast to bring that ambition into reality. Citing anonymous sources, Bloomberg predicted a major announcement to this effect from Microsoft as early as next week.

The tech company is also apparently in discussions with HBO (Time Warner), Crackle (Sony Pictures Entertainment), Bravo (NBC Universal), and LoveFilm UK (Amazon.com Inc.) to establish some kind of partnership(s). Comcast, Verizon, and Microsoft have all declined to comment on the story.
