‘Old Republic’ Team Faces Layoffs
23 May, 2012
Bioware Founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk posted an announcement on the Star Wars: The Old Republic forums confirming layoffs at the MMO’s Bioware Austin studio. The scope of the layoffs has yet to be revealed, but changes in LinkedIn resumes such as Community Manager Stephen Reid (via Joystiq) suggest this isn’t just a trimming of contract and part-time players.
“Sadly, we are bidding farewell to some talented, passionate and exceptionally hard-working people who helped make SWTOR a reality.” read the statement, in part, “Impacting people’s lives this way is always very hard, but we’re ensuring the affected people are treated with dignity, fairness and respect.”
