Speaking to Kotaku yesterday, Square Enix allayed many retro gamers concerns on the upcoming PC re-release of the publishers most famous RPG. When the updated Final Fantasy VII was announced last week, the inclusion of a Character Booster system – which allowed for gamers to instantly power up the HP, MP and Gold stats of their characters – had many expecting the feature would come with micro-transactions.
“No, the Character Booster will not cost real money to use,” a Square Enix representative informed the news blog, “We’ll have final pricing info on the game to share soon, but we can confirm that there will be no microtransactions for the upcoming rerelease of Final Fantasy VII on PC.”
This latest version of Final Fantasy VII will be arriving “soon”, along with cloud saving and achievements.
