Initially discovered by Official Playstation Magazine, a new website dedicated to the new IP of former Team Bondi staff – Whore of the Orient – popped up earlier this week. To be developed by the remnants of the L.A. Noire team lead by Brendan McNamara (and published by Warner Brothers) the game will take place in Shanghai, China revolving around a “group of Western cops hopelessly trying to keep the lid on and keep the peace.” The game will be available on next gen consoles and PC. No word on release date as of yet.
From the official announcement:
From the development team who brought you L.A. Noire and The Getaway, along with the Academy Award winning film production team of Kennedy Miller Mitchell comes a completely new and original IP being developed for next generation games consoles and PC.
This is the first concrete information we’ve heard on the title since the confirmation of its name in an interview with George Miller – owner of the film production company that most ex-Team Bondi staff call home, Kennedy Miller Mitchell – last November. At the time, the goal of the project was to tell “one of the great untold stories of the 20th century”.
