Speaking to Eurogamer, CD Projekt Red managing director Adam Badowski stated that the futuristic role-playing title Cyberpunk 2077 will include multiplayer features alongside the story-driven single-player experience. Similar features for The Witcher 3 are currently under consideration, though Badowski did not elaborate further. More details on Cyberpunk 2077 are included after the jump.
Though CD Projekt Red has already released a teaser-trailer for the title, Badowski indicated that the development team for the project is still being set up. In fact, according to him the CGI trailer that the studio released last January was primarily meant to help draw new talent to the studio. A release for the new title is not expected until 2015, at the earliest, with the staff at the studio currently focused on delivering The Witcher 3 in 2014.
Badowski explained that while the next installment in the The Witcher franchise and Cyberpunk 2077 are both going to be open world role-playing games, the latter will allows for more freedom in establishing a character and their role. Unlike in The Witcher, players will not be constrained by pre-established character roles, and can in fact choose their own class.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in development for PC and next-generation consoles.
