Former Gears of War producer Rod Fergusson has confirmed he is leaving Irrational Games following the release of Bioshock Infinite. Fergusson explained to Polygon, “During my departure from Epic, I learned that Irrational was in need of a ‘closer’ to help finish Bioshock Infinite.” Fergusson quit Epic Games and joined Irrational as VP of development for Bioshock Infinite late last year.
“I am very proud of the work that I did and of the team and what they were able to accomplish on Infinite.” he continued. “Now with the game shipped successfully, I’ve done what I set out to do here and now I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life and career.”
Rod Fergusson has not yet commented on where he could be heading next.
