According to Bloomberg sources, current Windows head Julie Larson-Green could take on Microsoft’s entire hardware engineering division. This comes as part of a restructuring plan that CEO Steve Ballmer is expected to announce this week, at the earliest.
According to the sources, Ballmer has not finalized the restructuring plans, so roles could be different when it’s officially announced. Former Skype president Tony Bates could also take charge of acquisitions and relationships with software developers.
Before his departure to head Zynga, Don Mattrick was also in the running to take charge of Microsoft’s hardware engineering division.
