GamesIndustry has reported new details regarding Sony’s rumored virtual reality headset.
Citing anonymous sources, GI reports that the headset currently has a release date of fall 2014, but that is subject to change. The sources claim the device looks very similar to the Oculus Rift, but with Ping Pong balls attached which use the PlayStation Eye camera for enhanced accuracy.
The headset will not be shown at the Tokyo Game Show, the sources added. The reason being there are not enough games which can showcase the technology and Sony does not want to distract buyers as they prepare for the PlayStation 4 launch.
