Citing an anonymous source, Inside Mobile Apps recently reported that Zombie Farm developer Playforge had laid off its entire staff and was going to shut down the studio entirely.
Playforge president Jack Sorensen has since confirmed to Inside Mobile Apps that while a number of the studio’s staff had been let go, the studio was not going to close. It will continue to support its Zombie Farm and Tree World franchises but is winding down on development of new games.
Zombie Farm was the third highest-grossing app in 2011. Last week, Tiny Chef developer TinyCo announced that it had laid off 27 employees at its San Francisco office.
