Universal City will host the inaugural 3D Gaming Summit from April 21st to the 22nd, and will explore “how video games aided by new technologies like stereoscopic 3D, are bridging the gap between interactive and linear entertainment.” Keynoting the event will be Paul W. S. Anderson, most noted for his direction of the Resident Evil films and the cult classic Mortal Kombat. In terms of 3-D production, Anderson is set to helm the newest version of the Buck Rogers franchise.
“We’re thrilled to have a filmmaker of Paul’s vision and vitality as part of our keynote program,” spoke Bob Dowling, 3D Gaming Summit Co-Producer and ex-editor-in-chief of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. “Our mission is to bring together some of the most innovative minds in interactive and traditional media, and Paul qualifies perfectly.”
“I’m delighted to be part of the first ever 3D Gaming Summit,” Anderson commented. “Today, information is being assimilated faster and faster and 3D is the latest — and perhaps greatest — evolutionary step in dramatically enriching a fan’s viewing and playing experiences. Let the games begin.”
