In a news story more undead than the zombies in World at War, more details on the Infinity Ward-Activision lawsuit have thrown further fuel into the blaze of corporate rumors and legal banter. An updated version of the original lawsuit (filed this past April), Infinity Ward claims that their publisher Activision created a “police state,” allegedly to force the creation of another Modern Warfare entry.
The new version of the suit also lowers the claims from the developer from approximately $500 million to $216 million, and remains separate from the suit filed by former developer heads Vince Zampella and Jason West, who seek $36 million in compensation. A tenative date is set for August 5th to progress with any appropriate legal action. If any is found, a trial date has already been planned for May 23, 2011.
