In Take-Two’s profit earnings report for Q3, the $12.4 million profit listed was largely attributed to the continued success of Rockstar San Diego’s Red Dead Redemption. The Wild West title has shipped 6.9 million units ($354.1 million gross) since launch, defying many initial analyst estimates.
On the other side of the industry, a representative from Take-Two spoke to MCV (reportedly under “intoxicated” circumstances) on the future of the Red Dead franchise. A sequel to this year’s Redemption is already well in production, with the tentative title of Red Dead Revolution. Such a title fits with the game’s history, but no further details on the game have been given, nor has the initial reveal been confirmed by a non-“intoxicated” employee.
