3-D technology has seen a resurgence of popularity lately, with many stalwart movie franchises implementing it alongside their normal theatrical release. Irish company RealView Innovations are taking the same idea to the gaming market, specifically to Sony’s handheld this upcoming Holiday season. The V-Screen, a new attachment for the system, enhance the perceived depth of the in-game images, giving the much beloved illusion of a third dimension on your PSP. The accessory requires no extra hardware to see the images, just attach the screen to the PSP and play your favorite title.
“The innovation uses special optical components in unconventional ways,” said Eamonn Ansbro, co-Executive Director of RVI, in a press release. “No software, electronics or headgear is required. Nonetheless, the optical results are astonishing. The video game industry is a perfect fit for our technology. The V-Screen offers consumers a tremendous leap forward in optical enhancement.”
If this works… awesome. I have to see it in my hands first though.
I’m still looking forward to James Cameron’s new camera system.
