Reef Entertainment, a UK-based publisher, has secured the rights to release a game based on the “Rambo” movie license. Acquiring the rights from StudioCanal, Reef Entertainment has reportedly begun development on “a triple-A title on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC [that] will capture the gritty atmosphere and full-on action which made the Rambo movies so successful.”
“I am a big fan of Sylvester Stallone movies, and when we had the opportunity to secure the video game rights from StudioCanal for the Rambo franchise, we had to grab it with both hands,” said Reef Entertainment CEO Peter Rezon.“With the success of the most recent Rambo film, and an international appetite for action movies with Expendables 2 scheduled for release next summer, we felt now was a good time to do something special with this license.”
Craig Lewis, commercial director at Reef added, “We have big ambitions for Reef and the Rambo IP is the first step in establishing us as a worldwide player.

Remember Black for the PS2? Absolute 80’s film style – everyone explodes and when you shoot enemies they will always fall off a catwalk/out of a window regardless of how close they are to the edge and what angle you hit them at.
Loved that Rambo series but never been a big fan of games based off of movies (except KotOR) but seeing as Rambo won’t need a plot, this might turn out pretty decent.
Not to mention that the sequel to Black, Body Count, comes out later this month.
