Cologne, Germany – For Bioware’s third and final game at this year’s GamesCom, president of LucasArts Darrell Rodriguez joined Bioware co-founder Ray Muzyka on stage to talk about Star Wars: The Old Republic. Unfortunately, no new information regarding the game’s content or release date were released.
Muzyka and Rodriguez stated they were happy to finally be adding intricate storylines to MMOs and once again reiterated that The Old Republic would be the world’s first fully-voiced MMO with hundred of thousands of lines of dialogue. Also, Muzyka stated that The Old Republic is the largest Bioware project to date, and possibly even larger than all their previous projects combined. It was pointed out that players choices will impact the world of The Old Republic, but no further statement was made regarding this aspect.
Following other popular MMOs such as World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online, The Old Republic will be localized completely French and German. This will include full translations the extensive set of dialogue featured in the game.
To finalize, the same trailer that was shown at the E3 last June was played, except with the localized German voice over. The game does not have a release date yet.
