According to a recent press release from Capcom, Resident Evil 6 will be getting new modes and content directly after launch. In particular, three new modes have been named: “Survivors Mode” (wherein death converts players to enemy teams, and two kills revert previous alignment), “Predator Mode” (a PvE mode where a single player fights against all others as the deadly Ustanak character), and “Siege Mode” (where a player attempts to protect an NPC from an opposing team). These new settings will be playable with up to 6 players, and compatible with maps from “Mercenaries Mode”. Players will be able to track their stats and achievements in these modes on ResidentEvil.Net, which will launch for free alongside RE6.
Speaking on the rest of their content, Capcom has stated that “Further post-launch downloadable content for Resident Evil 6 will include additional maps for Mercenaries, which can in turn then be used as maps for Survivors, Predator and Siege modes, plus other items yet to be announced.” No word yet on a payment plan (if any) has been made in regards to the content, which be launching October 6th, four days after Resident Evil 6‘s October 2nd release.
