Nordic Games, the new owners of over 150 former THQ properties including Darksiders, took to their forums and asked fans what they should now do with the series. Nordic Games’ business and product development director Reinhard Pollice created the forum thread which has received over 100 replies, including one from co-founder of Vigil Games Ryan Stefanelli.
“The tale of the four horsemen has not been told to an end,” Pollice wrote. “So far we only know the story of War and Death but what about the other two? How will it go on? What did you enjoy most about Darksiders and Darksiders II? What did you absolutely dislike? What kind of Darksiders game do you wish should be created next?”
Ryan Stefanelli replied: “As one of the co-founders of Vigil and the lead level designer/principal designer on both games, all I can say is… make it adventurous. And do what we would’ve done: let people know what happens when those other three comets land on Earth!”. He also suggested a cooperative mode.
“Good Luck to you guys.” Stefanelli concluded. “You’ve adopted our baby.”
Pollice also posted that they don’t have any “sure plans” for the series as they don’t have a development team for it. “So for now we will be analysing the situation and try to figure out whats the best option” he added, “One thing is sure: The tale of the four horsemen is not over!”
In a seperate thread regarding the MX vs. ATV series Reinhard Pollice posted “MX vs. ATV is so far the franchise where we have most problems understanding certain things that happened like servers and shops being shut down. Was there any announcement on that?”
According to several fan testimonies, matchmaking servers for MX vs. ATV Reflex were shut down just three weeks ago. The online DLC store for MX vs. ATV Alive is no longer functioning properly with fans claiming some promised DLC was never delivered. Pollice asked for more details on the servers and DLC, and promised the company will look into it once they have their hands on all the data.
