After several rumors concerning the existence of a new Call of Duty installment known as Call of Duty: Ghosts surfaced last week, Activision has updated the official Call of Duty website with a mosaic in the likeness of Ghost, a character introduced in 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. With promotional displays apparently having been delivered to retailers, it seems an official reveal for the title may be imminent.
Gametrailers reported that a user had sent in pictures of double-sided posters that had been delivered to Gamestop, suggesting the title for the next installment in the franchise is indeed Call of Duty: Ghosts. In addition, the poster indicates the game would be scheduled for a release on Tuesday November 5th, later this year.
Rumors concerning the game started floating around in March, when a video was posted on Youtube by a user who claimed to have reliable information on details concerning Call of Duty: Ghosts, which would otherwise be known as Modern Warfare 4. According to the video, the game was to be officially announced on May 1st and will only be available on PC and next-generation platforms. The poster published by Gametrailers does not indicate the platforms for which the game would be released.
As Activision has not made an official announcement yet, all this is currently being classified as a rumor.
