Valve, the developer of Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, has sent out a press release today stating that with more than a month to go before release, the game is already the company’s most succesful pre-order ever. For more information, please follow the jump.
Gabe Newell, president of Valve Corporation, stated that “Left 4 Dead 2 has consistently run at 300% of Left 4 Dead’s numbers”. He also revealed that the company will be starting a $25-million marketing campaign to further improve the success of the game. In the United States, the campaign will include television adverts during the UFC broadcasts and on Monday Night Football shows, as well as adverts in magazines, on gaming websites and on road-side billboards.
In Europe, television adverts will be aired in major markets and outdoor promotion will be found in major cities.
Left 4 Dead 2 is due for worldwide release on November 17th on PC and Xbox 360.
