Square Enix announced today Just Cause 2 will release in the U.S. on March 23, 2010 and will be developed by Avalanche Studios.
Just Cause 2 will feature over 400 square miles of tropical terrain, desert, snowy mountains, beaches, and jungles for some open world gameplay.
“Just Cause 2 offers the freedom to explore and tackle the world in any way you choose”, said Lee Singleton, General Manager of Square Enix London Studios. “The grapple and the parachute mechanic will change the way you play open-world games, allowing players to be in the air in seconds, tackling missions from above and using the aerial advantage. If you prefer to stay on solid ground, the choices offered by the grapple are limited only by your imagination.”
Just Cause 2 will feature a unique grapple gameplay allowing players to hijack bypassing planes, jeeps, helicopters, opposing soldiers and more. The game promises not only lateral exploration, but vertical exploration as well.
Just Cause 2 will release on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PCs under the Eidos brand.
Definitely a rental. Looks like January and March are going to be CROWDED….
