mirrors-edge 27 Nov

Ben Cousins – who previously served as general manager of EA Easy – recently confirmed that DICE,  the studio behind the Battlefield  franchise, is currently developing Mirror’s Edge 2. Responding to a comment reported by OXM from EA Games VP Patrick Soderlund (who stated that the publisher doesn’t want DICE to become “a Battlefield factory”), Cousins commented on his Twitter profile that, “It is general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene that Mirror’s Edge 2 is in production at DICE.”

The sequel to EA’s under-performing free-running platformer has been thought to have been cancelled back in February of last year. The statement proclaiming the game’s demise was retracted and revised within the next week, but no statements on the game’s status had made it beyond rumors until Cousins confirmation. No further information on the game has been provided.
