Those gamers looking to go through a third version of hoard mode may have a bit of a wait on their hands. Speaking at a Q&A at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Epic Games President Mike Capps mentioned – among other things – that the next installment in the popular shooter franchise Gears of War franchise would be made for the next generation of consoles. This could mean anyway from a 4-7 year wait, depending on your analyst of choice, a length of time that could mean a lot more for the developer within the current console generation. Capps later clarified his statements, unsure of whether or not the delay would include a full console generation. “If we ship a game in the next few years, it will be Unreal Engine 3,” he extrapolated, “If we ship a game on next [gen] consoles, it will be Unreal Engine 4.”
