Though Pandemic Studios was closed last week, EA has announced that a new instalment in Pandemic’s well-known Mercenaries series is in early stages of development at EA LA. The game is currently only identified by its working title Mercs Inc. and is the only project from Pandemic that is known to be continued after EA announced the studio would be closing down. According to a statement issued by EA, “a core creative team [at EA LA] is forging new ground and conceptualizing new ideas for [the] exciting [Mercenaries] franchise.” No possible release window for the game was stated.
More like Mercs 1, less like Mercs 2. I don’t know what went wrong in development in between.
