Visceral Games and Electronic Arts have released a statement today, revealing that Dead Space 2 is officialy in production. While little is known about the game at this point, EA did state that the second instalment of the Horror / Action series will once again feature Isaac Clarke as the main character. Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer of Dead Space 2, has stated that “[t]he infection continues to spread throughout space and our hero Isaac Clarke is the only person able to contain it. There are still loads of Necromorphs that need killing.” The game is under development for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. No release window has been announced at this time.

The original Dead Space was released in 2008 and received numerous awards for sound design and was hailed as one of the best new IP’s of that year.

  1. Yeah I knew it. Now they need to make it more scary, I only had two scare moments, one in the very beginning and one at the very end. Can’t wait to play it on my PC!

  2. I thought the game was pretty creepy overall… like some sort of passive fear that tells you ‘you can take on anything that is gonna jump around that corner, but you sure as hell aren’t gonna like it’. I only had two jumps as well, one at the very end, and the other when I stepped into an elevator (was playing while eating), took a bite of my food only to see some Necromorph tear open the elevator. It scared the shit out of me, and I instantly spewed out my food… some of it landing on my tv a decent 2.5 meters away 😉
