Even though Max Payne 3 had been announced to be released during the current financial year of publisher Take-Two, which ends on October 31st, the game was not mentioned during a conference call earlier today when discussing the games that would constitute the offering for the remainder of this year. Games that were mentioned included Civilization V, LA Noire, Mafia II, NBA 2K11 and NHL 2k11.

The game, which is set 12 years after the events from Max Payne 2 (2003), was announced in March 2009 and originally intended to be released during Winter 2009. However, Take-Two Interactive pushed the release back several months, to allow the game to benefit from additional production time.

An official release date was never announced, though developer Rockstar Vancouver has indicated that the game is being developed for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

  1. Not really expecting much from this… No Remedy is a shame, since they were able to give it that excellent noire style!
