Today, EA announced that the limited edition of the upcoming first-person shooter Medal of Honor will also include a code that grants the user early access to the beta of the previously unannounced third installment in the Battlefield series. No additional information was released concerning Battlefield 3, currently indevelopment at EA DICE, but EA did indicate that the beta would kick off somewhere in the twelve months following the release of Medal of Honor. EA DICE is involved in developing the multiplayer aspect of Medal of Honor, which is currently being developed by the “Danger Close” team at the EA Los Angeles studio.
Besides this access code, the limited edition of Medal of Honor also includes early access to several weapons and other unlockables, which would otherwise only be available by progressing through the ranks of the online component. The Playstation 3 version of the Limited Edition also contains a remastered version of 2002’s Medal of Honor: Frontline.
Medal of Honor will release for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 12th. The Battlefield 3 beta key is included with the limited edition for each platform.
