At the Video Game Awards, which took place last Sunday in Los Angeles, Bethesda Softworks finally released the first teaser-trailer for the oft-rumored fifth installment in the Elder Scrolls series. Though little information is currently available concerning the game, Bethesda has confirmed that the game will be available for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, with a release scheduled for November 11th, 2011.

Additionally, Bethesda indicated that the game will run on an entirely new engine. This engine is being built in-house, and will allow the developer to greatly improve the quality of characters and animations.

The game will be set in the northern province of Skryim, with the trailer indicating that the story will bear some form of connection to the events from the previous installment: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The teaser-trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim can be found here.

  1. I hope this means Mr. Howard will be working far away from the Fallout franchise. But kudos to Beth for finally forgetting about god-forsaken Gamebryo.
