[Initial reporting done by Eli English]
The games industry has proven itself phenomenally charitable in the wake of the Japan tsunami and earthquake, and Valve continues the trend with special in-game items for Team Fortress 2. The hats are; the Humanitarian’s Hachimaki for $7, the Benefactor’s Kanmuri for $20, and the Magnanimous Monarch for $100. All of the proceedes from the hats will go to Red Cross to support their efforts to help the people in Japan.
“After April 6, none of these items will be available in any form. We encourage you to spend as much as you are comfortable with contributing to this good cause. While your Mann Co. store purchases cannot be written off as tax deductions, those who would prefer to donate directly to the American Red Cross fund can do so at their website. Thanks.”

Awesome to see more things like this popping up. Needs to be kept fresh in peoples minds, as this is anything but over with for the people in Japan.
