This past March Milla Jovovich announced that another “Resident Evil” film was in the works. In a recent twitter message Jovovich addressed a possible title for the film, stating, “I think it’s called RE: Retribution, but I have to ask Paul to be sure.”
Paul, being Paul W.S. Anderson, served as the writer and producer for all of the previous films, and director for “Resident Evil” and “Resident Evil: Afterlife”. Jovovich also announced that some filming would take place in Japan, saying, “I love Tokyo! One of my favorite cities in the world! We’re gonna come film some scenes for the next “Resident Evil” in Tokyo!!!”
The film, which is expected to be in 3D is said to be slated for release on September 14th, 2012.
I really don’t care for the live action movies at this point after the first movie. If there was an announcement for a new GCI movie, then I would be interested.
