16 Jun, 2011

Activision issued a press release earlier today, announcing the third pack of downloadable maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops. This map pack, which is known as “Annihilation,” will be released for Xbox Live on June 28th, with releases for PC and Playstation 3 scheduled for an unannounced date in the future. More information on the pack is included after the jump.
“Annihilation” will contain four new multiplayer maps, titled “Hangar 18,” “Drive-In,” “Silo,” and “Hazard.” Additionally, a new map known as “Shangri-La,” which is specifically geared towards Zombie game modes, will be featured in the map pack. According to Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia, “Shangri-La” is an “exotic and mysterious map filled with deadly traps, dark secrets and innovative gameplay that will challenge even the most daring Zombie hunters.”
To celebrate the new map pack, a Double-Exp weekend will be hosted for Call of Duty: Black Ops from July 1st until July 4th.
