Sony Online Entertainment streamed a press conference not too long ago where they announced the official start date for the superhero MMO DC Universe Online‘s transition to free to play. Come November 1st, players of all walks of consumerism can enjoy taking missions from classic DC heroes and villains. The move was announced last month, when the game’s new tiered membership plan was detailed.

Basic membership costs no money but comes with no additional gameplay benefits. A one-time charge of $5 grants “Platinum” membership, which unlocks additional character/inventory slots and a higher cash limit. And for $15/month, the player becomes a “Legendary” member with even more slots and cash limits to their name.
