CVG.com reports that the Frankfurt-based developer Crytek will be announcing a new PC / Console title next month. The announcement comes as the studio announced during GDC that it would also be getting involved in mobile and free-to-play titles for iOS and Android in addition to its triple-A endeavors. More details after the jump.
The Crytek GM of Games, Nick Button-Brown, stated that development for the PC and consoles remains the core of the studio. According to him, the additional activities of the studio, including development for mobile platforms, are being pursued “because they’re interesting.”
Aside from this new proejct, the developer of the original Far Cry and the Crysis franchise is currently working on a sequel to Kaos Studios’ Homefront and a Kinect-based hack & slash title for the Xbox 360 known as Ryse. Though he wouldn’t provide details regarding this unannounced project, Button-Brown did state that “the other project looks absolutely fantastic – I mean, genuinely the best of that kind of project we’ve ever done. It looks spectacular, the team are doing really, really well and it’s just really nice to see the team really enthusiastic about what they’re doing. They’re really happy.”
