Vg247.com reports that 2K Games has announced that the upcoming third installment in the BioShock franchise, BioShock Infinite, will not release in October as originally planned. The game will now be released for PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 on February 26th, 2013. More information is available after the jump.

Ken Levine, creative director at developer Irrational Games, has stated that the delay will allow the development team to make additional “tweaks and improvements will [that will] make Infinite into something even more extraordinary.” In addition to this Levine stated that the game will not be presented at E3 and Gamescom, so as to make sure that the next time people will be able to see and play the game, it will reflect the final product rather than an unfinished game.
