Japanese publisher Konami recently announced its intent to acquire outright the folks and IP of Hudson Soft, reportedly for its knowledge of social and mobile gaming, a field in which the publisher is just now taking major steps into. The developer, perhaps most famous for creating Bomberman, is already partially owned by the publisher – who possesses a majority of its stock – but this deal would bring the rest of the share over to Konami as well. The company is planned to be de-listed from the stock market this March 29th, with the company’s CEO Michihiro Ishizuka stepping down two days later, to be replaced by Konami Digital’s Kazuhiro Uehara. The final parts of the deal are expected to take effect April 1st.
