Dax Ginn, the marketing director of Batman: Arkham City, has stated that for an average gamer, the game should last between 20 to 24 hours. By sticking to the core game however, skipping all side missions and other non-essential content, the game can be completed in less than eight hours.
Ginn added that the team specifically aimed for this length, and that the team at Rocksteady Studios didn’t “want to make these huge games that take a huge chunk out of your life. We want to tell an amazing story that you can really enjoy and not feel like you’ve got to take six months off work in order to get through it.”
In addition to being noticeably lengthier than its predecessor, Kevin Conroy, voice-over actor for Bruce Wayne/Batman, has stated that the game will also be a lot darker than the original.
“It’s really, really dark” Conroy stated, alluding to the increased presence of the Caped Crusader’s Rogue Gallery, as well as an apparent emphasis on Batman’s secret identity being in jeopardy.
Batman: Arkham City will be released on PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 on October 18th in the States.
Gonna do every side mission possible, cause I like to finish my games as much as possible. Also, the cameos should be good, and exploring the city will be awesome.
This worries me… I hope it doesn’t stretch out like Assassins Creed 2 did.
Yeah me too, cause I put around 40 hours into AC II just messing around.
