Former members of Zynga Dallas, the studio behind CastleVille, are forming a new game studio called Boss Fight Entertainment, Venture Beat reports.
Studio founders include former CastleVille lead designer Bill Jackson, former Zynga Dallas studio head David Rippy and former Zynga divisional COO Scott Winsett. The group previously worked at the Texas-based Bonfire Studios before it was acquired and renamed by Zynga.
“We learned quite a bit about designing and operating free-to-play games over the last five years,” Jackson said, in part. “Boss Fight’s next game will combine everything we know about free-to-play and mobile with the high production quality of our biggest franchise titles. We’re already working on an original IP that we’ll start talking about in the coming months.”
Zynga Dallas was closed in June of last year, after its parent company began its transition into mobile gaming.
